SYNOPSIS
Mira is a “nobody.” Or so she believes. Living a mundane, repressed existence in a landscape where ancient magic is treated like a state secret, she is the "glitch" in a grand, dystopian narrative. When she and her fiercely pragmatic best friend, Maia, are snatched by the regime’s faceless agents, the mundane world shatters. Mira is rescued—not by a hero, but by Clara, a cynical, wings-bearing Samodiva who is frankly exhausted by the role of "guide."
This is a road-trip adventure through a crumbling reality, where the banter is as sharp as the danger. The trio makes for a combustible dynamic: Mira, the impulsive dreamer, finally waking up to her forbidden royal bloodline; Maia, the skeptic who views life as a tactical game of survival; and Clara, the otherworldly catalyst who refuses to coddle them, forcing them to question why they are so desperate for a reality that is killing them.
The regime doesn't just want Mira dead; they want the "system" to absorb her. The trio traverses the borderlands, moving through physical ruins and psychological labyrinths. Humour is their shield—whether it's Maia’s dry mockery of the absurdity of their situation or Clara’s caustic commentary on human nature. They aren't just fleeing soldiers; they are outrunning a cycle of history that demands compliance.
The stakes hit a breaking point when Mira confronts her estranged mother, the Queen. It is not the cathartic reunion of a fairytale; it is a brutal, cold-blooded power play. The Queen offers no motherly warmth, only the jagged truth that Mira’s existence is an inconvenience to the status quo.
The climax forces a reckoning. Mira must embrace the power she’s been trying to hide, Maia must let go of the tactical safety she’s built around them, and Clara must reconcile her ancient nature with the mess of human freedom. Arriving at Cape Kaliakra—a site where legends of defiance were born—the three women stop running. They realize that they don't have to choose between their survival and their souls. They decide to stop playing by the rules of a game designed for them to lose, opting instead to burn the script entirely.

In a world where historical narratives — and our own internal monologues — are manufactured to keep us compliant, the journey of three women is an exploration of the universal battle between the comfortable lie and the devastating, liberating truth.
PERSONAL CONNECTION
This project is profoundly personal to me; as a woman who is half-Bulgarian on my father’s side, Cape Kaliakra is my way of reconciling the beautiful, haunting folklore of my roots with the often rigid, manufactured histories that define the region. Growing up between two worlds, I learned early that "truth" is often a political tool. This film is my attempt to reveal the evolving intelligence, beauty, and culture of Bulgaria, and greater Eastern Europe, through a new lens.
